LABORATORY TECH

We are recruiting for a local laboratory in Reno/Sparks area. This position is r esponsible for solutions that are analyzed in the laboratory. They dissolve and prepare samples according to industry standard procedures.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Prepare reagents including acid mixtures and dilutions
• Monitor equipment condition and performance and conduct routine maintenance as required
• Perform acid digestions according to strict standard operating procedures to ensure data consistency for our clients
• Follow all safety procedures and proactively identify hazards
• The above duties and responsibilities are representative of the nature and level of work assigned and are not necessarily all-inclusive

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS

• Equivalent combination of education and relative work experience required .
• Bachelor's degree in chemistry a plus but not required .
• Experience working with acids and fume hoods .
• Experience in wet chemical digestion techniques .
• Capable and willing to work in a respectful and collaborative professional environment that is focused on delivering for our clients .

PHYSICAL DEMANDS include, but are not limited to the following:

• Employee is required to crawl, kneel, bend, and reach with hands and arms above their shoulders
• Must be able to lift and carry repetitively up to 50 -lbs
• Ability to safely perform work using chemicals such as NaCN, H2SO4, and Lime
• Physically capable of standing, grasping and performing other types of physical work for extended periods of time.
• Be clean shaven where respirator contacts the face

Payrate $20-$22 DOE
