University of Nevada, Reno Public Health Scientist

The School of Public Health at the University of Nevada, Reno is accepting applications for a Public Health Scientist with expertise in health administration for a state-funded, tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor. We seek a Public Health Scientist with expertise in health services management or health services research. The successful candidate will be expected to:

• Teach undergraduate, master's, and doctoral-level courses
• Establish and maintain an independent and impactful research program
• Contribute to the continued growth and development of the School of Public Health
• Participate in service at the university, community, and professional levels

We welcome applicants with diverse research interests in the field, including but not limited to: public organizations, cancer care, and electronic health records.

Required Qualifications

• Doctorate (PhD, DrPH, ScD) in Public Health or a closely related field, preferably from an accredited School of Public Health
• Ability to develop and maintain an independent program of research, including ability to secure external research support
• Demonstrated ability or potential to teach graduate and undergraduate students
• Demonstrated ability to interact effectively with individuals from diverse communities and cultures, as well as in a multidisciplinary environment

Compensation Grade

Assistant Professor. Salary is competitive and commensurate with related education and experience.

Grants-in-aid for Faculty Employees

The University is proud to provide a reduced-rate tuition benefit to faculty and qualified dependents. Faculty can take up to six credits per semester at a reduced rate. Dependents of faculty have unlimited credits, but in order to be eligible children must be unmarried and under the age of 24 and must receive at least 50% of their financial support from the employee and/or employee's spouse or domestic partner.
