Description:

Manufacturing Engineer

As a Manufacturing Engineer in the data center industry, you will oversee and optimize the production of critical infrastructure such as power and cooling equipment. You'll lead a team in analyzing and improving manufacturing processes, developing and refining work instructions for low-volume, complex electromechanical and mechanical assemblies, and designing and validating manufacturing test plans. You'll proactively identify high-risk failure modes using PFMEA and implement robust quality control strategies, including inspection protocols and process monitoring. You'll collaborate with suppliers and vendors, driving root cause analysis and corrective actions to ensure incoming materials meet specifications. You'll establish material delivery systems and kitting methods to improve assembly efficiency, maintain detailed documentation, and train and mentor production staff on new processes and equipment. As a team lead, you'll be responsible for setting priorities, managing project timelines, and ensuring your team meets quality and efficiency goals.

Skills and Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field. Minimum 5 years of experience in manufacturing engineering, with at least 2 years in a team lead or supervisory role. Demonstrated success leading teams in developing, documenting, and refining manufacturing processes for low-volume, complex electromechanical and mechanical assemblies. Proven experience designing and implementing manufacturing test plans and procedures for complex assemblies, with measurable improvements in quality or efficiency. Hands-on experience conducting PFMEA and implementing quality control strategies, including inspection protocols and process monitoring. Proficiency with CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and manufacturing documentation tools. Track record of collaborating with suppliers and vendors to drive root cause analysis and corrective actions, resulting in improved incoming material quality. Strong data analysis skills, with experience using metrics to measure process performance and support data-driven decisions. Excellent communication and leadership skills, with experience training and mentoring production staff and working cross-functionally. Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks, and consistently meet deadlines. Experience in manufacturing engineering within the data center, power, or cooling equipment sectors. Experience developing and optimizing material delivery systems and kitting methods, resulting in measurable improvements in assembly efficiency. Direct experience with supplier quality management, including driving corrective actions and achieving quantifiable improvements in incoming material quality. Demonstrated success in cost reduction initiatives, such as reducing material usage, labor hours, or process waste by specific percentages or dollar amounts. Experience designing and validating advanced manufacturing test systems for electromechanical assemblies. Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams in process improvement projects that resulted in measurable gains in efficiency, quality, or cost savings. Experience creating and delivering training programs for production staff on new processes and equipment, with documented improvements in team performance.
