Craigslist has made a name for itself with its free and low-cost posting service, so it is especially tempting for a business that doesnt have a generous budget. However, there is a downside to using it, and those hidden costs can add up quickly and be a major burden for your business.
Craigslist postings can create an influx of work; although job postings on Craigslist have been on the decline in the current economy, the number of applicants to those posts has continued to rise, creating a lot more work for hiring managers and HR departments. According to Tony Lee of CareerCast, the number of qualified candidates who apply remains the same or has fallen for many positions.
