General Purpose of the Position: The employee will assist in electrical infrastructure installations in compliance with Switch SUPERNAP standards. This includes AC power, DC power and grounding. Must maintain a clean work environment and be able to operate in a customer sensitive mission critical environment.Supervisory Responsibilities: This position carries out no supervisory responsibilities. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Prep and install electrical receptacles, j-boxes and associated hardware Must be able to work safely from ladders Install and secure conduit up to 4" Install wire according to electrical drawings Observes appearances and conditions and reports safety hazards and/or concerns Maintains an inventory of required tools and supplies Other Duties: Performs other assignments (or duties) as required May work in live equipment after 90 probationary period with 100% supervision, PPE in compliance with current NFPA 70E, and if both the supervisor and manager are comfortable with the individual preforming hot work Required Job Skills: General knowledge/use of hand tools and general mechanical abilities Must be able to read and interpret instructions in both written and drawn formats Must be able to work individually and stay on task Must demonstrate excellent verbal, interpersonal communication skills; the ability to express ideas clearly, concisely and effectively with personnel associated with the data center environment; the ability to analyze and make suggestions for problem resolution Must have an understanding of safety requirements related to the construction field Must be able to climb ladders, bend and lift a minimum of 50lbs Education and Experience:Education: High School or GED Actively enrolled in ABC 1st Year CoursesExperience: Experience with electrical wiring preferred, but not required Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
