Description

+ Assists with the supervision of a comprehensive and diverse recreation program.

+ Always creates and maintains a family atmosphere in the Shelter.

+ Works with the Leadership Team to schedule and coordinate weekend recreation activities to include evening programming.

+ Coordinate recreation and leadership activities/programs with campus and local community resources.

+ Provides high-quality supervision and management for the residents and positively influences student behavior. Shows respect and courtesy to residents.

+ Maintains inventory of equipment and supplies in the Recreation Facility (Gym). Recommends purchase of specific equipment and performs repairs on equipment as needed.

+ Responsible for the overall appearance, condition and organization of the gymnasium.

+ Possesses mental and physical capabilities to work with children.

+ Makes decisions in emergency situations and summon emergency help as needed.

+ Is required to pass training courses, including CPR and First Aid.

+ Interacts with children age 0-18 years in a variety of ways to include disciplining, listening, behavior management, behavior modeling, providing educational, recreational and developmental activities and informal counseling.

+ Must qualify as a Direct Care Staff Member (DCSM) through Washoe County Human Services Foster Care Licensing.

Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

High School Graduate or equivalent required. Associates degree preferred. Must be able to pass certification by the Washoe County Health Department. Must be able to communicate with children. Must be able to read, write and speak English. Must have a valid in-state driver license and meet Company insurability requirements.
