Miyamoto International is a global structural engineering and disaster-risk reduction firm providing resiliency expertise that sustains industries and safeguards communities around the world. We are experts in earthquake resilient engineering that reduces damage and facilitates disaster recovery. Our work also involves expert structural engineering for public and private projects in the adaptive reuse, aviation, civic, commercial, education, healthcare, hospitality, industrial, mixed-use, residential, seismic retrofit, sustainability, transportation, and other sectors. We design new construction and assess existing buildings to address specific vulnerabilities to disasters. We prioritize solutions that limit damage, business interruption and loss of life.

We are currently seeking an Engineering Intern to become a member of our Reno office. Miyamoto is strategically located worldwide in regions vulnerable to disaster to positively impact economies and save lives.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Junior or Senior in a 4-year Degree College and majoring in civil engineering with a concentration in building structures, or architectural engineering (structural)
  • Basic structural analysis and design skills: Knowledge of statics, dynamics, and at least two building material design classes (e.g., steel, concrete, masonry, timber, and/or pre-stressed concrete)
  • Strong analytical and communication skills
  • Revit capabilities desirable
  • Relevant structural engineering experience (i.e., internship or previous design office) desirable

The salary range for this position is $22.00-$24.00 per hour. Salary offers are determined using a variety of factors, including but not limited to: years of experience, education, depth of knowledge, geographic location, and equity with internal staff.
