Safety Assistant

Description:

Victory Woodworks is hiring an Assistant for its Safety, Scheduling, Lean and Learning team. This role is at the center of activities critical to our continued success and growth. This Assistant will support, maintain and expand Victory Woodworks' safety program at our offices and manufacturing facilities.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations. Maintain OSHA records
  • Train employees in accordance with federal, state, and local safety standards to ensure compliance. Identify, plan, develop and implement safety training for new employee orientation and annual required programs. Promote safety awareness through internal company communications
  • Remain current on the code of federal regulations to comply with Federal, State and Local Regulations
  • Identify and evaluate working conditions and practices, conduct and coordinate on-site inspections to audit physical conditions and safe work practices. Provide advice and counseling for all compliance regulations
  • Investigate accidents to determine root cause and complete required reporting
  • Review process-operating procedures/records and provides input for safety and health considerations
  • Support teams to implement controls to minimize safety and occupational health hazards
  • Other duties as assigned. While safety is the focus, you are helping the team be successful. This might include running an errand or unclogging a toilet.

  • You possess a valid Driver's License with reliable transportation
  • You have excellent communication skills, written and verbal. Display appropriate confidence. Can speak in a loud voice as needed and when appropriate. Ability to write in a logical manner with proper spelling and grammar
  • You can read, decipher, and consolidate complex documents
  • You are Computer literate including strong knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel
  • You recognize safe versus unsafe behavior
  • You are comfortable occasionally lifting items up to 25 pounds
  • You are comfortable working in an shop environment with loud background noise
