Family Services Coordinator

Empowering Families, Strengthening Futures

Our Family Services Coordinator serves as a community partners liaison to expand services to BGCTM families. This position will work to connect children and families to needed services in the community, including healthcare providers, housing opportunities, and other assistance programs.

Our Mission: To enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as caring, productive, responsible citizens.

These are some of the additional things you will do as a Family Services Coordinator:

• Collaborate with BGCTM staff and community partners to ensure members and their families are introduced to programs to assist with assessing and obtaining necessary services.
• Organize and execute family engagement events at various locations, assist in implementing community events, and establish and maintain relationships with key organizations
• Maintain and manage material resources (food, clothing, house hold items, etc.) and the BGCTM food pantry
• Communicate with, and provide points of contact for,families receiving or seeking services
• Support the Family PLUS Department in reaching program goals andgrant objectives
• All BGCTM employees have the responsibility to help maintain the safety of our members and staff, and ensure an optimal experience for all.

Qualifications

Education/Experience:

• Bachelor's degree is preferred - in Human Development, Social Services, or other related field
• Minimum of two years of relevant work experience
• Proficient in using various computer software programs including Microsoft
• Proficient verbal and written communication skills with diverse populations of people

Physical Requirements/Work Environment:

• Must be able to perform duties which require walking, talking, hearing, standing, siting, bending for long periods of time. May occasionally be required to kneel, run, and/or climb
• Must be able to use hands and arms to enter data into the computer, use the telephone and other office equipment
• Must be able to lift, move, manipulate, and/or hold objects up to 45 pounds. Objects that exceed the 45-pound weight limit require additional assistance when moving, lifting or manipulating.
