Sign on bonus for the following Level Technicians - Valid from October 2024 - October 2025
- Level 2 and Level 3 Rope Access Technicians or Composite Repair Technicians (less than 3-years field experience) $2,250
- Wind Turbine Composite Repair Technicians (3-years field experience) with or the ability to obtain valid rope access certification $5,500
- Employee must remain employed and in good standing with Mistras for a minimum period of 4 months and have worked at least two full 28-day rotations
- Paid in full after 4 months of employment and two full 28-day rotations have been completed
Pay range:
Entry Level: $25-30/hour
Level 2: $28-34/hour
Level 3: $40-$50/hour
POSITION SUMMARY: The UT Level II Composite Wind NDT Technician will perform UT inspections on various materials as required per job scope. This position requires significant travel.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES/ACTIVITIES: - Set up and calibrate equipment.
- Conduct tests with appropriate NDT technique(s).
- Interpret, evaluate and document results.
- Must be thoroughly familiar with the scope and limitations of the method in which certified and capable of directing the work of trainees and Level I personnel.
- Must be familiar with the codes, standards and other contractual documents that control the method as utilized by the employer.
- Actively participate in training program and document OTJ hours.
- Work with minimal supervision.
- Identify and resolve problems in a timely manner.
- Obtain and analyze information skillfully.
- Edit and present numerical data effectively.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:- High School graduate or equivalent required.
- Training and coursework in specialized NDT technical program meeting SNT-TC1A for UT.
- Prior certification as an NDE Level II with one (1) year experience OR prior certification as an NDE Level I technician with adequate field experience hours to certify to Level II per SNT-TC1A standards on UT.
- Composite experience preferred, but not required.
- Rope Access certification (any level, SPRAT/IRATA) preferred, but not required. Must be able to obtain upon hire.
- Experience and comfort working at height.
- Wind Energy experience preferred, but not required.
- Ability to travel significantly.
- Ability to pass a drug and alcohol test as well as a background check.

WORKING CONDITIONS:- Field duties require outdoor work.
- Interaction with other crew employees, as well as supervisors and clients.
- Working outside in various weather conditions.
- Ability to work in constricted space in close proximity with other technicians.
- Must be physically fit and able to carry 50 lbs. frequently.
- Must be able to wear safety equipment as required by the safety department for personal protection.
- May be at more than one jobsite in a day and must be able to tolerate climate changes.
- Required to travel to customer locations to work for weeks at a time.
ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL FUNCTIONS: - Ability to frequently lift and carry 50 pounds.
- Sufficient personal mobility to maneuver within work environment to include the ability to gain access to elevated platforms via ladders, stairwells, and rope access.
- Sufficient clarity of speech and hearing or other communication capabilities, with or without reasonable accommodation, which permits employee to communicate effectively.
- Sufficient vision (near vision acuity in at least one eye to read the Jaeger Number 1 on a standard Jaeger test, Far Vision acuity of 20/30 or better in at least one eye, and capability to distinguish color and differentiate contrast between colors used in NDE) or other powers of observation, with or without reasonable accommodations, which permits employee to conduct investigations.
