What To Expect

A Reliability Engineer in the GigaFactory Facilities team sustains, supports new and existing utility equipment, and continuously improves processes that support one of the most automated factories in the world! The ideal candidate has a high aptitude for learning new skills. The role requires a broad capability to sustain all parts of the process equipment.

What You'll Do

  1. Collaborate with Facilities Maintenance, Design, Operations, Process Engineering, Controls, and other teams to ensure factory utility equipment runs safely and efficiently, minimizing downtime.
  2. Develop and improve reliability requirements during the design phase, incorporating full lifecycle feedback.
  3. Enhance Preventative Maintenance (PM) programs using Criticality, FMEA, RCM tools to identify failure modes and mitigations to minimize production impact.
  4. Optimize processes based on reliability requirements.
  5. Support metrics tracking for field reliability performance.
  6. Perform data analysis to predict and prevent failures.
  7. Become a subject matter expert to drive equipment-related process improvements, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis.
  8. Create training materials, maintenance routines, service bulletins, and documentation for equipment lifecycle management.
  9. Identify critical spare parts to prevent extended downtime.
  10. Provide hands-on support to troubleshoot and resolve downtime issues.

What You'll Bring

  • Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience as an equipment engineer for facilities process systems/equipment or in design and utilities process systems (HVAC, Dry Air, Compressed air, Hydronics, Boilers, etc.).
  • Knowledge of TPM, RCM, FMEA, and PdM programs.
  • Experience with predictive maintenance technologies (Vibration, Infrared, Ultrasound, Oil Analysis) and problem-solving methodologies (DMAIC, 8D).
  • Ability to work under time pressure.
  • Experience with commissioning and start-up of facilities process systems/equipment is preferred.
  • Certifications like CMRP or ASQ CRE are preferred.
