Water Resources Engineer

Location: Reno, Nevada (Hybrid), USA

We are seeking a Water Resources Engineer to join our team.

Description of Responsibilities:

• Consult on projects in North America and internationally, requiring occasional travel.
• Support assignments primarily including hydrologic and hydraulic engineering work related to the mining industry.
• Manage the performance of surface water control facility designs, including hydrologic analysis for peak flow determination and hydraulic analysis of flood control measures.
• Lead and direct staff engineers and perform project work directly.
• Facilitate proposal preparation, project management, execution, and development of reports and engineering plans.
• Perform Civil 3D grading and design of heap leach pad facilities, tailings impoundments, and occasionally roadways.
• Conduct mine water management system analysis via water balance modeling, hydrometeorological analysis, hydraulic design of pipelines, and dam breach studies.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Essential Requirements:

• Bachelors degree in civil engineering or a related field.
• Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in Nevada or willingness to obtain reciprocity.
• Minimum of 10 years of professional experience.
• Proficiency with site plan design, Civil 3D, hydrologic and hydraulic modeling tools like HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, FLO-2D, and experience with water balance modeling.
• Experience with mine permitting regulations in Nevada and mentoring junior staff.
• Strong client relationship skills and teamwork orientation.
