Job Details

Serves as the chief legal officer, providing legal guidance & managing the District's legal affairs to ensure compliance with all applicable laws/regs. Collaborates with the District GM, Senior Leadership Team and Board of Trustees to analyze applicable laws/regs, contracts, policies & resolutions to ensure compliance & protect District interests.

Requirements:

1. Juris Doctor (JD) from accredited law school;
2. Admitted to practice law in state of Nevada & in good standing with the Nevada Bar Assoc;
3. Minimum 5+ years of legal practice, with a focus on public & administrative law preferred;
4. Strong understanding of local government operations, governance & regulatory framework;
5. Familiarity with public sector law (including land use/zoning, public procurement, employment law & regulatory compliance);
6. Knowledge of contract drafting, negotiation, & risk management in a government setting;
7. Valid driver's license & successful completion of background check;
8. Excellent legal research, writing & analytical skills;
9. Strong communication/negotiation abilities;
10. Must provide clear/practical legal advice to elected officials & District staff;
11. Ability to work collaboratively & develop effective working relationships;
12. Work under pressure, managing multiple & conflicting priorities & handle sensitive matters confidentially.

Salary: $166,000 - $193,000/yr. DOE/DOQ including fantastic benefit package.
