As a Senior Roadway Design Engineer, you will be involved in projects with our Transportation Team and be part of a growing company focused on meeting our clients' needs, while also solving their problems. The ideal candidate is extremely detail oriented.Core ResponsibilitiesDesign and analysis of interstates, freeways, highways, interchanges and intersections, urban and rural roadways, and trailsPrepare clear and accurate studies, technical reports, construction plans, specifications, and cost estimates for transportation projectsSupport project managers with client relations, stakeholder management, and sub-consultant coordinationInterface with clients including state and local agenciesCoordinate and conduct meetings with project stakeholdersCoordinate with office management and project managers to share resourcesLead Roadway Design teamsAssist in proposal preparation including oral presentationsCoordinate and work within a team of project managers, design engineers, technicians, and support staff to successfully complete projectsTake ownership of projects from start to finishQualifications, Skills, and CompetenciesBachelor's degree in civil engineering from an accredited college or universityProfessional Engineering (PE) licensure8 – 15+ years of professional experience in roadway designExperience and relationships with transportation agencies are highly preferredKnowledge and experience with Bentley ProjectWise, MicroStation, InRoads, OpenRoads, AutoCAD Civil 3D, and other applicable softwareExperience designing freeways, interchanges, highways, arterials and shared-use pathsExperience with DOT's and Local Agency plan procedures and standardsSignificant experience with local, regional, state, and federal design criteriaHydraulics and Traffic experience is a plusExcellent written and oral communication skillsOutstanding interpersonal and customer service skillsSelf-motivated with solid organizational skills and attention to detailAbility to interact and work cooperatively with clients and team membersAbility to multitask on multiple projectsWillingness to work locally or in workshare with other officesProven history of meeting deadlines and budgetsExperience managing technical staff and project teamsDesire for personal and professional growth within a team environmentWhy choose this job?At Horrocks, enjoy a competitive salary and award-winning benefits such as:Medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insuranceGenerous paid time off401(k) with 50% match up to 6%In-house training and professional developmentPaid memberships and licensure supportVisit www.horrocks.com for more info.Additional DetailsSeniority level: Mid-Senior levelEmployment type: Full-timeJob function: Engineering and ITIndustry: Civil Engineering#J-18808-Ljbffr
