Base pay range

$131,887.00/yr - $268,362.00/yr

Title: Senior Mechanical Engineer

Segment: Voyager Space - Defense (Valley Tech Systems)

Location: Folsom, CA; Reno, NV

Job Type: Full Time - Hybrid

Position Description: Under supervision, perform engineering and testing assignments with clear and specified objectives and involves conventional types of plans and specifications. Apply sound engineering judgment. Perform as a technical contributor on projects. Interface with engineering peers, senior engineers, and program managers to receive tasks. Work within a team to promptly complete tasks. Communicate effectively to accomplish assignments and support others in accomplishing their assignments.

Responsibilities

• Perform mechanical component design for rocket propulsion systems using CAD models
• Participate in design reviews
• Conduct structural and thermal FEA on rocket motor components
• Prepare engineering drawings
• Participate in hardware assembly and testing activities
• Participate in customer meetings and reviews
  
  

Requirements

• Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance at the appropriate level (requires U.S. Citizenship)
• Bachelor of Science required in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, or other relevant engineering discipline from an accredited university.
• Ten (10) or more years of mechanical engineering experience
• Experience with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
• Working knowledge of CAD software
• Understanding of finite element analysis
• Aptitude for working with mechanical and electrical systems
• Must be able to travel approximately 20% of the time.

Salary Range: $131,887 - $268,362
