HSE Safety Manager / Data Center
HSE Safety Manager is responsible for implementing and overseeing all aspects of safety on the job site, ensuring compliance with company policies, client requirements, and regulatory standards (OSHA, ANSI, NFPA, etc.). This role provides leadership in hazard mitigation, incident prevention, and training while reporting directly to the HSE Program Manager. Strong leadership, strategic problem-solving, and effective communication skills are critical for success in this role. The ideal candidate has worked in a similar capacity at a large-scale Data Center and or Data Center / Construction site. HSE Manager serves as the primary safety leader at a job site, providing direct oversight of all safety personnel and ensuring site-wide compliance with regulations, client expectations, and company safety standards. This role bridges strategic safety planning with on-the-ground execution, working closely with project managers, subcontractors, and workers to foster a culture of proactive safety engagement. The G2 Site HSE Manager ensures that all safety programs, risk mitigation strategies, and compliance audits are implemented effectively, reducing incidents and maintaining a safe, productive work environment. Their leadership is critical in translating the program's overall safety goals into tangible site-level actions, ensuring that safety always remains a top priority.

This is a full-time role, salary range of $105,000 - $130,000 PTO and Health Coverage - The hours are Monday - Friday - 5 x 8 hours- start time is 645am - Candidates must be willing to be onsite during the core hours of 700am-400pm (approximately)- OT is possible- OSHA 30 is highly desired
Safety Program Implementation & Compliance
Implement and enforce safety policies, procedures, and programs at the job site. Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, client safety requirements, and site-specific policies. Conduct routine site audits and inspections to identify hazards and verify compliance. Coordinate with project managers, subcontractors, and field supervisors to proactively address safety concerns. Serve as a liaison between the owner and other trades onsite to ensure compliance with safety requirements. Maintain thorough documentation of safety compliance efforts, audit results, and corrective actions. Develop and maintain a safety compliance schedule for audits, inspections, and training sessions. Ensure all safety-related permits and approvals are obtained and maintained. Implement corrective actions to mitigate delays and maintain project compliance Use performance data to drive continuous improvement initiatives and enhance site safety performance. Regularly review and refine safety policies based on lessons learned and industry best practices.
Hazard Identification & Risk Mitigation
Ensure the Site-Specific Health and Safety Plan (SSHSP) is current and applicable to all work activities. Conduct and review Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs) to ensure completion before work begins. Oversee the completion and review of Pre-Task Plans (PTPs) and JHAs prior to job execution. Implement and enforce site-specific safety plans, ensuring hazards are identified and mitigated Oversee the proper use of PPE, fall protection, and other required safety equipment. Develop and enforce emergency response plans, including evacuation procedures and drills. Ensure all subcontractors on-site have been vetted, are approved, and remain in compliance with safety requirements through regular follow-ups and audits. Coordinate with local emergency responders, medical personnel, and fire departments to ensure emergency procedures are understood and followed. Conduct emergency drills to ensure readiness for potential crises and improve response times. Ensure all employees and contractors are trained on emergency evacuation routes and procedures.
Incident Response & Documentation
Lead investigations of incidents, near misses, and injuries, conducting root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions. Prepare and submit detailed incident reports to the Regional Program Manager and client representatives as required. Track trends in site incidents, analyze root causes, and develop proactive strategies to reduce risk exposure. Ensure timely reporting and compliance with all regulatory and client-mandated incident response protocols. Establish continuous improvement measures to prevent recurring incidents.
Training & Workforce Development
Conduct site safety orientations for all new workers, including subcontractors. Lead daily and weekly safety meetings, toolbox talks, and safety stand-downs as necessary. Provide hands-on training for workers on hazard recognition, emergency response, and best practices. Maintain and manage safety training records, certifications, and compliance documents. Ensure all personnel receive refresher training on key safety topics and emerging hazards.
Communication & Safety Culture Development
Work closely with foremen, tradespeople, and project supervisors to reinforce safety expectations. Report safety concerns, corrective actions, and compliance status to the Site HSE Manager. Ensure all workers are aware of site safety policies, emergency procedures, and hazard reporting protocols. Maintain and organize all safety-related documentation, including inspection reports, training records, and incident logs, ensuring readiness for internal and external audits. Act as the primary safety liaison between field personnel, client safety representatives, and project management. Maintain consistent communication with all stakeholders, providing safety updates and addressing concerns. Facilitate collaboration between project teams, subcontractors, and regulatory authorities.

Main Duties Required

  • 5+ years of safety experience in construction, data center or industrial environments.
  • OSHA #500 or 502 - Trainer Course in Occupational Safety and Health Standards for the Construction Industry.
  • Has the capability to teach in front of an audience.
  • Safety specific knowledge in the following areas is required:
    • Fall Protection
    • Mobile Elevated Work Platforms
    • Electrical Safety
  • Proven experience as a Safety Manager in a similar industry.
    • History of managing safety professionals.
  • Data Center experience as a safety professional
  • In-depth knowledge of safety regulations and best practices.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of safety management systems
  • Communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Can talk to a technician in one minute and turn around and have a conversation with a VP or higher in the next minute.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., Certified Safety Professional) are a plus.
