Job Overview:
Seeking for a Corporate Tax Manager to oversee the accurate completion and submission of various taxation compliance requirements, including IRS, SEC, State tax, PUCN, FERC, and corporate taxation reporting. The ideal candidate will ensure accurate filings, identify opportunities for improvements, and provide clear guidance to both the taxation team and senior leadership.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Tax Compliance: Oversee all areas of corporate tax compliance, ensuring timely and accurate filings with external and internal parties. Reconcile filings with internal workpapers and review tax computations for accuracy. Stay updated on new tax legislation and ensure proper accounting and disclosure.
  • Tax Accrual Management: Manage income and non-income tax accruals and ensure accurate and timely tax payments and reconciliation to tax payable/receivable accounts.
  • Audit Monitoring: Monitor IRS and other jurisdictional audits, accounting for tax positions accordingly.
  • Data Analysis: Prepare and analyze fluctuation reports for tax data, explaining fluctuations clearly. Provide relevant data to necessary parties and review memorandums on pertinent tax issues.
  • Tax Planning & Forecasting: Assist with the 10-year UI planning and forecasting process. Stay current on new tax laws and opportunities, recommending solutions and implementing them.
  • Leadership: Supervise a team of professionals, providing mentorship and training. Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and internal controls.
  • Business Transformation: Assist with business transformation initiatives, including conversions to new software systems within the taxation department.
Requirements:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
  • Experience: 10+ years of related experience in corporate tax compliance.
  • Certifications: CPA or equivalent preferred.
  • Skills & Knowledge:
  • In-depth knowledge of federal and state tax laws and compliance requirements.
  • Strong leadership and teamwork skills with the ability to influence peers and manage resources.
  • Ability to communicate complex tax issues effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • High attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Proven ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.
