Job Description

The Purchasing Agent (PA) will be responsible for the daily sourcing and purchasing materials, supplies, equipment and services by coordinating with authorized site and department Managers. Ensures that initiating purchases are in line with Company procedures and current contractual agreements. Pas are responsible for goods and services delivery, cost efficiently, availability and quality.

Responsibilities

1. Evaluating suppliers: Assessing suppliers based on price, quality, delivery speed, and other factors.
2. Negotiating contracts: Working with vendors to negotiate prices, volume, and cash discounts.
3. Maintaining inventory: Coordinating with managers to maintain inventory levels.
4. Tracking orders: Ensuring delivery deadlines are met by tracking order and adjust as required.
5. Preparing purchase orders: Preparing purchase orders and securing approval from the requisitioning department.
6. Maintaining records: Keeping records of items bought, costs, deliveries, product performance, and inventories.
7. Training: Training departments on purchasing procedures and processes.
8. Collaborating: Working with other departments to ensure the quality and specifications of materials.
9. Analyzing data: Analyzing market trends, supplier performance, and procurement analytics to identify cost-saving opportunities.
10. Building relationships: Building and maintaining long-term relationships with suppliers.
11. Organizing deliveries: Organizing and confirming the delivery of goods and services.
12. Tracking shipments: Overseeing the tracking of shipments.
13. Preparing reports: Preparing and submitting detailed reports.
14. Resolving issues: Resolving and answering questions about purchasing issues with departments and vendors.
15. Researching: Studying sales records, inventory levels, and market trends to identify potential suppliers and buying patterns.
16. Negotiating: Negotiating prices and contract terms with suppliers.
17. Selecting vendors: Evaluating suppliers based on price, quality, delivery speed, and other factors.
18. Process Management: Set-up new projects, ship to addresses in Oracle Fusion, and close projects as needed.
a. Create Vendor profiles and training vendors how to use Oracle Fusion to obtain purchase orders and submit invoices for payment.
b. Set-up banking, terms, etc.
c. Manage tax applicability by federal, state, parish, etc. laws and regulations.
19. Able to travel as required.
20. Maintain confidentiality with respect to Redpath USA Corporation and client business information.
21. Complies with and ensure compliance with Redpath's Policies and Procedures as detailed in the appropriate manuals, handbooks, directives, Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
22. Able to work in excess of 40 hours a week, overtime, day and nights, weekends, holidays and shift rotations.
23. Able to travel frequently, which may include remote locations.
24. Other duties and responsibilities as assigned verbally and/or in written form.

Qualifications

Education:
1. Bachelor's degree in business, finance, supply management, or related preferred.

Work Experience:
1. Required: 2-4 years' experience in a buyer/purchasing role.
2. Proficient in the use of computers and associated software.
3. Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
4. Strong understanding of supply chain management.
5. Experience using ERP systems, Oracle Fusion is highly desirable.

Knowledge Required:
1. Strong organizational, time management and planning skills.
2. Excellent interpersonal, communication and customer service skills, both verbal and written.
3. Strong written and reporting skills.
4. Excellent negotiation skills and ability to network and influence people.

Other Requirements:
1. Ability to pass background clearance check, drug screening and physical.
2. Ability to build and maintain positive internal and external relationships.
3. Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions.
4. Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing.
