The Department of World Languages & Literatures seeks an experienced Administrative Assistant 4 to provide high-level support across budgeting, personnel, events, faculty/staff/student supervision, scheduling, office protocols, procurement, and departmental leadership. This position plays a pivotal role in coordinating department operations, supporting the Chair and faculty, managing travel, payroll, graduate student assistantships, and ensuring compliance with university policies.
Responsibilities include managing personnel administration (hiring, payroll, international scholars, contracts/forms), overseeing search and onboarding processes, supervising staff and student workers, developing and monitoring budgets and transactions, coordinating events and travel logistics, scheduling classes and meetings, and maintaining departmental records, key/inventory, and office systems.

The typical work schedule is Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm; this is subject to change based on organizational needs.
Compensation Grade:
Grade 29
In classified service, salary is in Grade and Step. The Step is determined based on the Nevada Administrative Code. Salary placement above a Step 01 at initial appointment is determined based on the recruitment, the candidate's qualifications, internal equity and budgets. A request to accelerate salary must be approved by Human Resources and abide by the Nevada Administrative Code.
