OBJECTIVE: We are seeking a Territory Manager to oversee all aspects of retail accounts, including sales, administration, and communication, for independent BBQ/Outdoor Living/Appliance retailers and select mid-size regional accounts in PST and MT time zones. The role requires traveling 60-70% within the territory, with overnight stays (3-4 days per week).

The successful candidate will be a self-motivated professional with proven achievements in sales, merchandising, training, and customer service. Must be capable of effectively communicating corporate strategies and developing tactical business plans to manage and grow independent BBQ, Outdoor Living, and Appliance retailers, as well as regional accounts.

Primary Job Responsibilities

Communication:

  • Serve as the primary contact for customers.
  • Maintain open communication with management, training/merchandising teams, customer service, sales planning, analysts, and colleagues.
  • Update on accounts, advertising/marketing, space allocations, visual opportunities, assortment changes, forecasts, customer meetings, and competitors.

Business Management:

  • Promote and sell all ZWILLING J.A. HENCKELS product categories to retail stores and regional accounts. Build lasting relationships with store owners, buyers, managers, and sales staff.
  • Responsible for sales performance and order fulfillment.
  • Develop and execute business plans to increase account growth and identify new opportunities.
  • Analyze sales data and troubleshoot issues.
  • Plan and analyze product assortment.
  • Evaluate account openings and closures, providing recommendations.
  • Create and implement sales incentives.
  • Negotiate space, brand placement, and visual displays.
  • Collaborate on advertising with regional sales and marketing teams.

Administrative:

  • Manage budgets and promotional funds.
  • Handle stock balances, damages, and RTV.
  • Conduct sales training and seminars.
  • Manage POS fixtures and visuals.
  • Handle travel and expenses.

Reporting:

  • Provide regular sales reports (weekly, monthly, YTD).
  • Track SKU sell-through rates.
  • Forecast product demand.
  • Report shipments and returns.
  • Submit weekly call reports.

Order Maintenance:

  • Manage open orders and delivery dates.
  • Follow up on advertising and sample orders.

Compensation: $50,000 Base Salary + Uncapped Commission.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 4-year college degree.
  • 3-5 years of field sales experience in branded consumer products.
  • Strong background in wholesale/retail appliance, outdoor living, BBQ promotion, and merchandising.
  • Excellent organizational skills: planning, prioritizing, managing multiple tasks, meeting deadlines.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Salesforce.
  • Willing to travel overnight, 60-70%.
