Area Maintenance Manager

Chewy is seeking an Area Maintenance Manager at its Reno, NV Fulfillment Center. In this role, you will be a critical member of the Maintenance Leadership Team that takes charge of maintaining and improving the reliability of general warehouse assets and production equipment such as conveyor systems, industrial automation systems, inventory storage solutions, and powered industrial trucks. We are seeking an individual that can directly captain a team of technicians, partner closely with Chewy Operations and other customer teams, and leverage third party vendors for unique maintenance work!

Minimum/Preferred Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience running a maintenance or operations team in a warehouse or factory.
  • Experience working with material handling equipment such as conveyors and powered industrial trucks.
  • Experience using information systems and data to measure and improve key performance indicators.
  • Ability to simultaneously support multiple high priority projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Communicate and collaborate with cross functional partners.
  • Ability to work a schedule that includes weekends, nights, and holidays.
  • Ability to travel as needed.
  • Bonus: Master's Degree.
  • Experience maintaining electromechanical material handling systems.
  • Experience maintaining industrial control systems.
  • Experience maintaining electrical systems.
  • Experience using a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).

Job Responsibilities/Duties:

  • Develop maintenance technicians responsible for the reliability and performance of general warehouse assets and production equipment in an e-commerce fulfillment center.
  • Lead preventative and reactive equipment repairs and handle high severity downtime events.
  • Audit the quality of work and documentation of the team and evaluate areas to improve.
  • Lead continuous improvement projects that target key performance indicators such as injury rates, equipment uptime, mean time to repair, and system capacity.
  • Use data to measure and lead the performance of your team.
  • Partner with Chewy Operations and Support teams to achieve business goals.
  • Coordinate third party vendors performing work for Chewy.

The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including but not limited to the candidates relevant experience, education, and work location.
