Role:

As a Senior System Test Engineer at Amperesand, you will play a crucial role in validating the performance of power electronics and thermal systems, as well as ensuring the firmware operates flawlessly. You will design and develop test systems that uphold our high standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain innovative test systems for high-voltage power electronics.
  • Validate critical electrical, thermal, and performance characteristics of our products through all stages: prototype, pre-production, and production.
  • Conduct thorough regression testing to affirm that new product iterations maintain the performance and reliability benchmarks set by previous models.
  • Define manufacturing test specifications essential for high-volume production.
  • Innovate on test system designs to optimize accuracy, cycle time, and cost-efficiency.
  • Work closely with hardware design and firmware teams to deepen your understanding of product functionalities while investigating and resolving issues to enhance product performance.
  • Engage in hands-on testing during hardware bring-up and system debugging, assisting with software optimization as necessary.
  • Implement design techniques that facilitate ease of validation and maintenance.
  • Challenge assumptions and decisions using logical reasoning and first principles.
  • Travel internationally to various facilities for collaboration and deployment of solutions.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering.
  • Over 8 years of hands-on experience in test engineering, preferably focused on power electronics.
  • In-depth understanding of power electronics principles, particularly in high-voltage, high-current systems, and power conversion technologies.
  • Proven experience with PCBA schematics and hardware debugging.
  • Proficiency in using oscilloscopes, multimeters, power analyzers, and other testing equipment.
  • Familiarity with system-level programming languages (e.g., Golang, Rust, C, C++) for automating systems.
  • A proactive and positive attitude towards challenging tasks, exhibiting ownership and accountability for personal and team success.
