Liberty Dogs™ is a premier service dog training program whose goal is to empower Veterans with disabilities to lead more independent and fulfilling lives - enhancing their well-being through the unconditional support that Liberty Service Dogs™ provides. Located on a 27-acre campus, it includes a training facility, dog housing, an administrative and multipurpose building, and accommodations for Veterans staying on campus to train with their Liberty Service Dogs™.

Position Summary
The Maintenance Technician is a full-time, 40-hour per week position that plays a critical role within the Operations team. This individual will ensure all campus areas, facilities, and equipment are meticulously maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness, functionality, and safety. The role requires a highly detail-oriented, proactive professional with a strong background in facilities maintenance and a commitment to excellence in all aspects of their work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular inspections of assigned buildings, grounds, and equipment to ensure they meet or exceed organizational standards for safety, cleanliness, and operational readiness.
  • Perform maintenance and repair tasks across campus assets including, but not limited to: HVAC systems, plumbing, irrigation, electrical systems, fire protection, landscaping, carpentry, painting, and janitorial services.
  • Safely install, repair, and maintain appliances and equipment as required.
  • Apply paint, varnish, and other finishes to a variety of surfaces using appropriate tools and methods to both protect and enhance facility appearance.
  • Ensure all work is completed in full compliance with organizational protocols, as well as local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Support seasonal operations, including snow removal and weather-related preparation or response.
  • Additional duties as assigned.
Position Requirements, Skills & Qualifications
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in facilities maintenance or a similar technical role.
  • Experience with maintenance and inventory management software, such as MaintainX and Sage Intacct a plus.
  • Must be capable of lifting up to 50 lbs. and performing physically demanding tasks including bending, climbing ladders, and extended periods of standing or walking.
  • Comfortable working in both indoor and outdoor environments in all weather conditions, year-round.
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Experience using both hand tools (e.g., shovels, brooms, mops) and power tools (e.g., saws, drills, pressure washers) safely and effectively.
  • Demonstrated commitment to professionalism, discretion, and integrity.
  • Proficient in office software including Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a team-oriented mindset.
  • Must pass a background check and possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
