Under general direction, performs and leads a variety of services related to complex system and application design and development; plans, coordinates, and implements assigned projects; and performs related work as required. This position is an open competitive/countywide promotional recruitment being conducted to fill a current full-time vacancy in the Washoe County Technology Services department. The current vacancy is in Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP). Please be advised this list may be used to fill future vacancies as they occur in any of the two specialized program areas within Technology Services. These include Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and Geographic Information Systems (GIS). Minimum qualifications include three years of full-time experience as a systems developer or geographic information systems developer or analyst, two years of which included systems analysis and design and a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in computer information systems, geographic information systems, or a closely related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. A valid drivers license is required at the time of appointment and must be maintained for continued employment in this classification.
The ideal candidate will have the ability to work with stakeholders to perform solutions design and streamline business processes. They will have skills in the full development spectrum from requirements through production support in the areas of custom modules, conversion programs, interfaces, reports, and forms. They will also have the ability to participate in and lead software implementations, both custom and vended. They will have the ability to lead project teams and mentor team members. They will have the ability to analyze complex business processes in order to find efficiencies. They will have effective analytical and problem-solving skills. They will have a reputation for making their customers top priority.
The Washoe County Employees Association (WCEA) Supervisory covers the Senior Developer Analyst position. Background checks will be conducted on selected applicants through the State of Nevada and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). Washoe County requires its employees to reside in the state of Nevada or neighboring California communities such as Truckee, South Lake Tahoe or Susanville as of their first day of work. Washoe County hires all new employees at the minimum rate of the salary range and eligible employees may receive an annual merit increase of 5% until they reach the maximum salary for the classification. Upon promotion, current Washoe County employees are placed at the minimum rate of the salary range for the higher classification of the new position OR a promotional calculation, whichever is greater.
