The College of Education and Human Development at the University of Nevada, Reno, invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in the Counselor Education Program to begin August 2026. The Assistant Professor is a 9-month position, with summer teaching opportunities available. Responsibilities include conducting research, grant writing, teaching graduate courses in the counseling core and specialization tracks, advising and serving on graduate committees for master's and doctoral students, contributing to the counselor education program development, leadership, and service, and participating in college and CACREP performance assessment activities. Collegiality and student engagement are valued and expected.

Grants-in-Aid for Faculty Employees
The University is proud to provide a reduced-rate tuition benefit to faculty and qualified dependents. Faculty can take up to six credits per semester at a reduced rate. Dependents of faculty have unlimited credits, but in order to be eligible children must be unmarried and under the age of 24 and must receive at least 50% of their financial support from the employee and/or employee's spouse or domestic partner.

The Counselor Education Program is housed in the Department of Human Development, Family Science, and Counseling in the College of Education and Human Development. The mission of the Counselor Education Program is to educate competent, culturally aware, ethical counselors who will provide exceptional services in both public and private settings to meet the needs of an increasingly diverse society. We offer three master's specializations (marriage, family, and couples counseling; school counseling; and clinical mental health counseling), and a PhD in Education/Counselor Education and Supervision. All programs are CACREP accredited.
