Human Resources at the University of Nevada, Reno seeks strategic, dynamic, and results‑driven candidates to champion Human Resources functions as an HR Business Partner (HRBP).
This posting is for a current opening in Advancement and for future openings in other Colleges and Divisions on campus. The level of HRBP will be determined based on organizational need and the experience of the successful candidate. Positions report to Human Resources with a dotted‑line relationship to the supported business unit.
The HR Business Partner (HRBP) oversees and leads day‑to‑day delivery and execution of human resources programs, policies and initiatives for an assigned school, college, or business function. The HRBP serves as a trusted advisor and partner to leaders, faculty, and staff, providing guidance, support, and solutions in organisational development, training, recruitment, classification and compensation, performance management, employee relations, data and reporting, accommodations and leaves. The position also supports required HR processes, including Workday and Payroll transactions. The HRBP must thrive in a dynamic environment that changes frequently and be passionate about driving organisational success through faculty and staff strategies.
The Senior HR Business Partner (HRBP) provides strategic leadership and oversight of HR initiatives for an assigned school, college, or business unit. Serving as a trusted advisor to senior leaders, this position aligns people strategies with institutional and unit goals across workforce planning, organisational development, recruitment, classification and compensation, employee relations, and learning and development. The Senior HRBP exercises a high degree of independence and judgment to influence decisions, design effective structures, and foster inclusive, high‑performing cultures. The role partners with central HR teams to ensure consistency in policy application while tailoring solutions to meet unit needs. The position may lead or mentor HR or administrative staff and oversee HR operations, data reporting, and compliance efforts.
SHRM or HRCI certification preferred

HR Business Partner, Administrative Faculty – B (salary range: $71,088 – $90,000)
Senior HR Business Partner, Administrative Faculty – C (salary range: $86,320 – $129,480)
Salary is based on department budgets, internal equity, and related education and experience. Salary schedules can be viewed under “Salary Schedules” and selecting Administrative Faculty by Grade.
Reduced‑rate tuition benefit for faculty and qualified dependents, up to six credit hours per semester at a reduced rate for faculty; unlimited credits for dependents (subject to eligibility). Faculty also have access to a Dual Career Assistance Program to assist newly hired spouse/partner career opportunities in Northern Nevada.
