Warehouse Material Handler

The Warehouse Material Handler is responsible for receiving and placing inventory into stock, picking and packing orders for delivery, loading and unloading trucks and trailers, maintaining warehouse operations, and keeping inventory control.

Responsibilities:

• Maintain the warehouse, including bins and aisles, in a neat and orderly manner.
• Follow all company safety procedures and perform daily safety inspections.
• Perform all physical requirements necessary to lift and move inventory around the warehouse.
• Operate and maneuver warehouse equipment and materials as intended by manufacturers' instructions.
• Continue training on various electrical products and maintain required safety certifications for operating equipment such as Forklift Certification.
• Receive incoming materials, accurately identify them, and note any discrepancies to prepare products for storage.
• Select and pack customer orders, ensuring conformance to customer standards and expectations.
• Report out-of-stock items to the Branch or Warehouse Manager.
• Check merchandise against shipping tickets and transfers.
• Prepare bills of lading for shipment.
• Conduct cycle counts and bin location verifications, consolidating inventory as needed.
• Assist customers at the counter when necessary.
• Perform other duties as assigned and work mandatory overtime as needed.

Essential Skills:

• Minimum of 1 year experience working in a warehouse environment.
• Ability to read and write English legibly.
• Proficiency in basic math, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and percentages.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Capacity to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Experience working in a non-temperature-controlled environment.
• Safety Toe Shoes or Steel Toe Boots required.
• Capability to bend, stretch, and lift frequently.

Work Environment:

The role involves working in a warehouse environment, both inside and outside, that is not temperature-controlled. Employees may be exposed to dust, heat, or cold. The job requires working Monday through Friday from 11 AM to 8 PM with the potential for mandatory overtime. Physical demands include frequent lifting or pulling up to 30 lbs, operating wire cutting machinery, and using a pallet jack.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Sparks, NV.

Pay and Benefits:

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $22.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
