The Student Health Center at the University of Nevada, Reno seeks candidates for current and future openings for Administrative Assistant 2's to work in the Front Office of the Student Health Center.

The Administrative Assistant 2 is typically the first person patients come into contact with and will assist with investigating and resolving concerns, checking patients in for appointments, problem-solving questions, and relaying information regarding clinic policies and practices.
The Administrative Assistant 2 schedules appointments including doctor appointments and procedures and tests in coordination with patient availability. This position also updates patient demographic data to ensure the accuracy of office records. This position is responsible for collecting fees, co-pays, past due charges, and prepares the daily financial deposit.
The ideal candidate will possess outstanding customer service skills, the ability to juggle multiple tasks efficiently, a commitment to confidentiality, and strong decision-making abilities.

Graduation from high school or equivalent education and two years of clerical and administrative support experience which included experience in one or more of the following areas: maintaining records and files; preparing a variety of materials using a personal computer or word processor; assisting customers in completing forms and applications; and/or performing secretarial duties in support of professional staff; OR
One year of experience as an Administrative Assistant I in Nevada State service; OR
An equivalent combination of education and experience as described above.
The typical work schedule is Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm; this is subject to change based on organizational needs.
Grade 25
In classified service, salary is in Grade and Step. The Step is determined based on the Nevada Administrative Code. Salary placement above a Step 01 at initial appointment is determined based on the recruitment, the candidates qualifications, internal equity and budgets. A request to accelerate salary must be approved by Human Resources and abide by the Nevada Administrative Code.
