Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Service Manager to manage and grow the Service Department at our Reno location. The ideal candidate will have extensive service experience in the aggregate and mining industry, or service management experience in the agricultural or construction equipment industry. This role requires a proactive leader who can ensure efficient service operations, maintain high levels of customer satisfaction, and uphold our company's standards.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily operations of the service department, ensuring safe, timely and high?quality customer service
  • Manage, train, and develop service technicians and support staff
  • Schedule and prioritize service jobs to meet customer and company needs while maximizing department efficiency
  • Monitor and maintain service department performance metrics, including productivity, customer satisfaction, and profitability
  • Assist in the development and implementation of service policies, procedures, and best practices
  • Coordinate with parts and sales departments to ensure seamless customer service
  • Address and resolve customer complaints and service issues promptly and professionally
  • Maintain a safe and compliant work environment, adhering to all relevant safety regulations and company policies
  • Communicate company objectives and policies, encourage employee participation and personal growth
  • Observe service personnel in repair circumstances and provide coaching to develop safe, clean, efficient, and effective high?quality work
  • Prepare service quotes as needed
  • Make recommendations for tools, equipment and other facility capital expenditures and ensure they are maintained and in good working order
  • Develop markets for the service department's current abilities and future revenue opportunities
  • Work with HR and Management to help recruit and hire service employees
  • Set wage levels and technician grade evaluations for all service personnel
  • Be directly involved with in?field customer issue resolution
  • Maintain morale and discipline of the service personnel within company policies, including termination if required
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the General Manager

Qualifications
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a service management role within the agricultural, construction equipment or aggregate and mining industry
  • Strong technical knowledge of heavy equipment used in the aggregate and mining industry
  • Proven leadership and team management skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong problem?solving abilities, high sense of urgency and a customer?focused mindset
  • Proficient in using service management software and other relevant tools
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple priorities
  • Proven record of building a customer?focused team
  • Requires a valid drivers license and the ability to maintain an insurable driving record
  • Willingness to travel
  • Minimum 2 years supervisory/management experience
  • Preferred 2? or 4?year technical degree or equivalent job experience
