This is a non-exempt, part-time position, not to exceed 1,039 work hours in a fiscal year with the Parks, Recreation and Open Space Department located in Carson City, Nevada. Under general supervision, position performs a variety of duties to maintain and operate recreation sports programs.
Examples of duties include cashiering duties to include program registration and concession assistance, design and carry out plans for activity, prepare needed supplies for activity, and maintain an organized and orderly work atmosphere.
Typical qualifications include one year of experience working or volunteering in a sports recreation setting and cash handling, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Required certificates, licenses, and registrations include current CPR Certification, Current First Aid Certification, Food Handlers Permit, and a valid driver's license if driving their personal vehicle while on work hours. Continued employment is contingent upon acquiring and maintaining these certifications.
Physical demands and working environment include sufficient mobility, strength, and endurance to maintain the facility, and effectively monitor and control the participants involved in the recreational activities. The work environment is both inside and outside during all seasons of the year and in all temperatures.
Other conditions include willingness to work overtime, shifts, weekends, flexible hours, and holidays. Staff may be needed to drive their personal vehicles while on work hours if over the age of 16.
