As part of our PerfectScale team, you will focus on developing state-of-the-art solutions for Kubernetes optimization, providing teams with the tools they need to minimize costs while maximizing performance.

The Opportunity

As a Senior Backend Engineer, you will play an essential role in developing our core backend solutions that drive PerfectScale's data processing and business logic. Your collaboration with product managers and fellow engineers will influence product decisions and lead to innovative solutions.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with product, DevOps, backend, and frontend engineers to design and deliver effective solutions for complex challenges.
• Drive the implementation of features, from proposal through design to maintenance, contributing your ideas for improvements.
• Write clean, maintainable code following best engineering practices, and conduct code reviews for your peers to ensure high quality.
• Dedicate time to improve the health of the codebase and manage technical debt through regular maintenance practices.
• Collaborate with the team to plan upcoming work, providing insights and identifying challenges early in the process.

Qualifications

• Fluent in English, with excellent communication skills both in writing and verbally.
• 6+ years of backend development experience in Go, Java, Rust, or Python.
• 3+ years of hands-on experience with Golang.
• Proven experience in high-traffic or high-load distributed systems and data pipelines for over 2 years.
• Familiarity with relational and non-relational databases, with a focus on performance and query optimization; knowledge of ClickHouse and PostgreSQL is a significant advantage.
• Experience in developing enterprise-grade SaaS products, microservices, and container-based applications.
• Expertise in working with Docker and microservices architectures.
• Strong understanding of distributed systems design and infrastructure.
• Knowledge of modern DevOps practices, including Docker, Kubernetes, GitOps, and CI/CD.
• A talent for optimization and benchmarking.
• Proactive mindset with a can-do attitude.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving team environment.
• Self-motivated and organized, with a focus on achieving goals.

Bonus Points

• Experience with Kubernetes in production environments.
• Hands-on experience with cloud services such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Knowledge of data engineering concepts, including streaming and batch processing frameworks like Spark and ClickHouse.
