POSITION SUMMARY

The Welder will be responsible for performing skilled TIG welding work in the fabrication and repair of metal hoses.

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Read and interpret blueprints and work orders.
• Verify orders for correct quantity and hose length
• Perform inspection for correct hose and appropriate fittings
• Determine correct alloy to be applied to all welds
• Perform skilled welding -following standardized procedure for AMP and RPM
• Learn job related material primarily through oral instruction and observation.
• Visually inspect completed welds to determine compliance with standards. Check quality and appearance of finished hose.
• Make appropriate repairs to assemblies that do not meet standards
• Maintain daily production logs
• Work safely without presenting a direct threat to self and others.
• Work cooperatively and jointly to provide a quality product.
• Ability to react to change productively and handle other essential tasks as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to understand and follow English instructions.
• Basic welding experience required.
• Manufacturing experience preferred, but not required.
• Good basic math skills.
• Have knowledge of standard tools, material and practices of welding trades.
• Have knowledge of hose and fittings.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Must be able to work a minimum of 40 hours per week.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to sit for 80 percent of the day.
• Good hand and eye coordination.
• Must be able to bend, squat, twist and kneel.
• Ability to use hand and power tools.
