divh2Head Cashier/h2pSalary Range: USD $17.00/Hr. -/ppThe Job in a Nutshell:/ppThe Head Cashier is responsible for successful operation of the front end by cashiering, training, directing and monitoring cashiers, providing World Class Customer Service, and supporting overall store operations./ppApplications are accepted by the date below, which may be updated if the hiring timeline is extended./pp01/15/2026/ph3Responsibilities/h3pMain Ingredients:/pulliProviding World Class Customer Service and a positive customer experience as the number one priority./liliExemplifying integrity, responsibility, and excellence and adhering to all policies./liliTraining of all cashiers and ensuring cashiers are:/liulliCommunicating about the {N}Power program with customers/liliNotifying customers that we donate $.05 to the local foodbank for every transaction where a customer uses a reusable bag/liliEducating customers on the Nutrient to Know About/liliPromoting store seminars and events/liliCompleting the Daily Sales Report (DSR) and cashier closeout responsibilities./liliIssuing and verifying cash drawers./liliHandling returns and overrides at the front end./liliAddressing customer complaints appropriately./liliEnsuring that front end sets are full and well-maintained./liliOverseeing completion of the front end task list daily./liliMaintaining all registers binders./liliDirecting cashiers to tasks during slow times at the register./liliGeneral cashiering and check out duties including running a cash register, bagging/boxing groceries, and providing carry out service./liliMonitoring, assigning and performing cart checks./liliAnswering the telephone./liliAssisting in managing special orders./liliMonitoring, assigning and grinding nut butters./liliLearning the location of products in all the departments in order to direct the customers./liliParticipating in tagging, facing, rotating, cleaning, markdowns, stocking, and backstock as needed./liliWorking a schedule based on store needs which includes evenings, weekends, holidays. Position requires working five days, 40 hours per week and attending mandatory store meetings./liliThis position has limited Manager on Duty but is never intended to be the overall Manager on Duty for the store./li/ulpAlthough this is a general outline of job responsibilities all employees are expected to be hands on and do whatever it takes to get the job done and make the company thrive./p/ulh3Qualifications/h3pRecipe for Success:/pulliHigh School diploma, GED or equivalent preferred./liliExperience in retail experience in a grocery or retail environment preferred; natural foods background is a plus./lili1 year of cashiering experience preferred./lili1 year of supervising others preferred./liliAbility to pass food safety training courses and/or certifications as required by law and maintain compliance by keeping certifications up to date and registered if applicable./liliAbility to manage changing priorities and to stay focused with the task at hand./liliSense of urgency in the completion of tasks./liliExcellent customer service skills./liliHighly organized with great attention to detail./liliAbility to take direction and follow through./liliMust be cashier trained and able to count currency./liliProficient in MS Word, Excel and Outlook./li/ulpThis job description is not an employment contract.
