We operate six convenient locations throughout Reno and Sparks, providing comprehensive, top-quality medical services, dental and pediatric care, behavioral health, low-cost pharmacies, nourishing food pantries, and more.

Job Summary: The Pharmacy Cashier plays a key role on the pharmacy team by greeting patients as they enter the pharmacy, checking patients in for vaccinations, collecting required information to process prescription sales, accurately handling cash and other payment transactions, and consistently delivering excellent customer service. This role requires strong attention to detail, exceptional customer service, and compliance with all applicable State of Nevada laws and CHA policies, particularly regarding patient confidentiality and pharmacy procedures.

  • Competitive salary: $38,958.4 -$46,485

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
  • Knowledge of pharmacy operations and patient confidentiality protocols.
  • Familiarity with general prescription handling practices.
  • Understanding of CHA clinic services and pharmacy programs.
  • Competence in using automated billing systems and point-of-sale software.
  • Proficiency in basic math, especially for payment processing and balancing cash drawers.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including conflict resolution.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced setting.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook) and general office equipment.
  • Ability to maintain professional, courteous relationships with patients and coworkers.
  • Sensitivity to diverse populations including different races, languages, ages, and cultures.
  • Ability to learn and apply CHA policies, procedures, and workflow standards.
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality in all interactions and documentation.
Education and Experience
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • Previous experience in a pharmacy or medical front office environment preferred.
  • Spanish language proficiency preferred but not required for consideration.
