As a Before & After School Care Youth Development Professional at the Boys and Girls Club of Truckee Meadows (BGCTM), you'll have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the lives of children while enjoying a fun and fulfilling school-year job. As a Youth Care Professional, you will:

• Create a safe, welcoming, and engaging environment for children.
• Plan and lead fun, educational activities.
• Serve as a positive role model and mentor for youth.

Success Traits for a Before & After School Youth Care Professional

At Boys & Girls Club of Truckee Meadows (BGCTM), we have fantastic staff who will teach you the skills you need on the job. However, certain traits will help you thrive as a Before & After School Youth Care Professional:

• You are fun, energetic, and enthusiastic.
• You are interested in pursuing a career in education or childcare (e.g., HDFS, CDA, Education, Counseling, etc.).
• You have a passion for building a stronger, better community.
• You can communicate and collaborate effectively with children, staff, and parents.
• You are at least 17 years old or older.

Safety & Hiring Requirements

As part of our commitment to child and member safety, all hires are required to complete the following:

• Provide three references. Professional references are preferred if you have work experience. If not, non-family members over 18 who can speak to your character and professionalism are acceptable.
• Complete a drug screening for any illegal substances, a background check, and a fingerprint check.
