JOB TITLE: Production-Certified Feeder
Location: Sparks, 89431
Pay Rate: $19.20/hr + $1/hr Attendance Bonus


JOB SUMMARY AND SCOPE: This position requires a team-oriented individual who can shape, handle or move the product while maintaining the speed of the production line in the bakery. They must adhere to company specifications, policies and procedures and government requirements and ensure the highest attainable level of product and personal safety. Potential candidates for this position must possess a very good level of physical abilities, stamina and be
capable of completing specialized training.

REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES:

  • Retrieve dough from fermentation room for pre-proofed product or mixing room for unproofed product.
  • Feed dough to the Rheon line in a constant and continuous flow and density.
  • Put dough on to the Action Roller.
  • Supply flour to the Floor Sifter.
  • Supply fat to the Fat Pump.
  • Retrieve dough trimming from Action Roller.
  • Become proficient in the operation of the Action Roller, the Fat Pump and the Roll-In Conveyor.
  • Monitoring, managing the dough ingredients for temperature as well as dough thickness, density, ingredients and overall quality.
  • Clean and sanitize work areas, equipment, and utensils.
  • Follow all requirements of SQF, FSMA, HACCP/HARPC, cGMPs, and OSHA regulations as they pertain to food safety in a manufacturing facility.
  • Follow all local, state and federal regulations.
  • Learn additional policies, tasks, skills and duties in support of additional food safety and quality programs.
  • Adhere to other related programs including but not limited to personnel hygiene, and allergen training.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
  • Must possess good communication skills as well as basic math and reading skills. Must be able to interact with all bakery personnel.
  • Must be able to stand and have good hand-eye coordination.
  • Should be familiar with basic OSHA safety practices.
  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds, manipulate (pushing, pulling) up to 100 lbs.
  • Must possess the ability to use a variety of cleaning tools.
  • Must be able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Must be able to read, write and communicate effectively in English.
  • Must pass Annual HACCP Recertification Examination with an 80% score, or 90% if retest is required.
  • Must pass Feeder Written & Practical Test SOP PRD 046.
  • Deductive Reasoning - The ability to apply general rules to specific problems to produce answers that make sense.
  • Near Vision - The ability to see details at close range (within a few feet of the observer).
  • Oral Comprehension - The ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences.

  • Problem Sensitivity - The ability to tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong. It does not involve solving the problem, only recognizing there is a problem.
  • Trunk Strength - The ability to use your abdominal and lower back muscles to support part of the body repeatedly or continuously over time without; giving out; or fatiguing.
WORK ACTIVITIES
  • Performing General Physical Activities - Performing physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and standing.

  • Communicating with Supervisors, Peers, or Subordinates - Providing information to supervisors, co-workers, and subordinates by telephone, in written form, e-mail, or in person.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
  • Must be able to work in a bakery/manufacturing facility and warehouse environment.
  • Perform duties near mechanical hazards and moving objects and in cold storage units.
  • Must be available to work any shift as scheduled.
  • Available to work weekends when necessary.
  • Work required overtime as needed.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Ability to lift, twist and carry up to 50 pounds and manipulate (pushing, pulling) up to 100 pounds.
  • Work at high elevations, in confined areas, in extreme heat and cold in outside conditions on a regular basis.
  • Physical activities required for this job include, but are not limited to: bending, carrying, climbing, crouching, feeling, finger movement, grasping, hearing, kneeling, lifting, pulling, pushing, rapid work speed, speaking, reaching, repetitive motions, seeing, sitting, standing, stooping, talking, twisting, walking, and walking on irregular surfaces.
  • Ability to work in cold environments as required.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
  • One to three years previous food industry experience preferred.
  • 6 months experience in a food manufacturing facility preferred.
  • Knowledge of safe practices a must.

Compensation / Pay Rate (Up to): $19.20 - $19.20
