Forklift Operator - Aluminum Production & Distribution

Position Summary

The Forklift Operator is responsible for safely and efficiently moving aluminum materials throughout the facility. This role includes loading and unloading trucks, storing and retrieving inventory, assembling racking, and pulling customer orders to support daily production and shipping operations.

Key Responsibilities

Material Handling

• Operate sit-down or stand-up forklifts to transport aluminum products, raw materials, and finished goods throughout the warehouse and production areas.

• Move materials between storage racks, production lines, and staging areas.

• Ensure all product is handled carefully to prevent damage.

Shipping & Receiving

• Load and unload trucks, trailers, and containers using a forklift or other material-handling equipment.

• Verify incoming and outgoing shipments against documentation.

• Stage materials for shipment according to company procedures.

Inventory & Racking

• Assemble and install racking systems used for aluminum storage (as directed).

• Place materials into appropriate storage locations and maintain organized, accessible racks.

• Perform cycle counts or assist with inventory checks as needed.

Order Pulling

• Pick and prepare customer orders according to work orders or pick lists.

• Ensure accuracy of order quantities, product types, and labeling.

• Stage completed orders for packaging or shipment.

Safety & Compliance

• Follow all safety guidelines, forklift operating procedures, and PPE requirements.

• Inspect forklift daily; report issues or needed maintenance.

• Maintain clean and hazard-free work areas, especially around racking and material storage.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of forklift experience preferred (sit-down, stand-up & reach).

• Valid forklift certification (or ability to be certified upon hire).

• Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in a fast-paced manufacturing/warehouse environment.

• Experience working with metals, aluminum, or heavy materials is a plus.

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to workplace safety.

Work Environment

• Warehouse and production floor setting.

• Exposure to aluminum materials, machinery, noise, and varying temperatures.

• Requires regular standing, walking, bending, and lifting.

Pay Details: $19.00 per hour
