Overview

PURPOSE: Under the supervision of the Director, Cybersecurity Strategy, the Cybersecurity Project Manager is accountable for leading and coordinating multiple cybersecurity initiatives to ensure alignment with organizational objectives. The role focuses on driving continuous improvements in program management processes and engagement planning, fostering effective collaboration with stakeholders, and maintaining clear communication throughout project lifecycles.

Resp & Qualifications

PURPOSE: Under the supervision of the Director, Cybersecurity Strategy, the Cybersecurity Project Manager is accountable for leading and coordinating multiple cybersecurity initiatives to ensure alignment with organizational objectives. The role focuses on driving continuous improvements in program management processes and engagement planning, fostering effective collaboration with stakeholders, and maintaining clear communication throughout project lifecycles.

It includes proactively identifying and mitigating risks supporting the Cybersecurity Officers to safeguard deliverables while providing guidance and support to team members to promote accountability and professional growth.

Essential Functions
  • Partner with the Cybersecurity Officers as an advisor to determine critical gaps, cybersecurity capabilities, as well as provide strategic support to the Cybersecurity organization.
  • Partner with the Cybersecurity Officers on the implementation of technical security measures, ensuring the right teams and capabilities are engaged.
  • Partner with the Cybersecurity Officers to ensure that Legal, Risk, Privacy, Compliance, and IT resources are established and assist with building an effective working relationship that enhances the cybersecurity program effectiveness.
  • Actively plan and manage projects holistically around scheduled program increments and milestones, scope, cost, resource health and risks while collaborating with stakeholders in key meetings resulting in successful project delivery.
  • Serve as a liaison with various cybersecurity stakeholders including emerging value streams such as Pharmacy Benefit Management and back office which streamlines cybersecurity oversight.
  • Prepare key documents, present to executives and produce other reports as needed while collaborating with stakeholders to bring projects through project funding conversations and initiation ceremonies.
  • Partner with the Director to ensure that timelines for Board of Director Meeting materials are being met in a timely fashion.
  • Partner with Director to create and implement the CareFirst Cybersecurity Roadmaps and work across all business areas to ensure awareness and adoption, further supporting the overall engagement model

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has no direct reports, however, may informally lead teams in a matrix environment.

Qualifications

Education Level: Bachelor's Degree in Project Management, Business or related field OR in lieu of a Bachelor's degree, an additional 4 years of relevant work experience is required in addition to the required work experience.

Experience: 3 years experience in project related field.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Project Management Professional Certification (PMP)
  • Knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodology.

Knowledge, Skills And Abilities (KSAs)

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both in writing and verbally.
  • Ability to exercise good judgment.
  • Project planning and life cycle development.

Salary Range: $68,760 - $136,565
