Community Health Alliance is looking for full-time Healthy Pantry Coordinator. Join our talented team of Healthy Pantries that focus on serving the community and helping those in need by creating healthy outcomes for patients of every income.

We operate six convenient locations throughout Reno and Sparks, providing comprehensive, top-quality medical services, dental and pediatric care, behavioral health, low-cost pharmacies, nourishing food pantries, and more.

Job Summary: The Healthy Pantry Supervisor leads the day-to-day operations of Community Health Alliance's Healthy Prescription Food Pantry program and supervises the Healthy Pantry Coordinators. This position ensures operational oversight of receipt, storage, inventory control, and distribution of healthy food to patients. The Supervisor recruits, trains, and manages volunteers; coordinates food procurement and deliveries; maintains accurate inventory and program data; and represents CHA in community partnerships and food bank coordination efforts. This role is physically demanding and requires frequent lifting, bending, and walking.

The Healthy Pantry Supervisor's primary duty is to manage and direct pantry operations through staff supervision, workflow planning, inventory oversight, and program compliance. The Supervisor exercises independent judgment in operational decisions and ensures the pantry meets performance and service standards.

  • Salary: $51,323 - $76,985
  • 100% company paid employee medical insurance and 90% paid vision and dental on the 60th day from date of hire.
  • Continuing education benefit available at 24 hours & $500 per year
  • Paid Time Off:
    • PTO 15 days/year and increased after one years of service: pro-rated based on FTE status
    • 8 paid holidays per year
  • CHA paid pension plan at 5% of earnings after one year of service; no employee match

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Inventory systems, stock rotation, and warehouse/pantry workflow
  • Community health setting operations and patient-facing service expectations
  • Volunteer program coordination best practices
  • Basic reporting and data tracking concepts
  • Food safety principles (handling, storage, cleanliness)
  • Staff supervision, training, and scheduling
  • Organization and time management in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong customer service and communication
  • Computer proficiency: Word, Excel, Outlook, database or EHR data entry
  • Recordkeeping and reporting accuracy
  • Relationship-building with partners and stakeholders
  • Work independently and manage competing priorities
  • Exercise judgment when troubleshooting operational/logistical issues
  • Communicate effectively with diverse communities and staff teams
  • Maintain confidentiality
  • Sustain physical demands required for pantry operations
Physical Requirements
  • Frequently lift and carry up to 50 lbs (repetitive lifting throughout the day).
  • Frequent walking, standing, bending, reaching overhead, pushing/pulling carts.
  • Ability to safely operate in a warehouse/pantry environment with active loading/unloading.
  • Ability to read labels, inventory lists, and use computer systems for tracking and reporting.
Environmental Requirements
  • Work is performed in pantry, storage, and clinical environments.
  • Regular exposure to refrigerated/freezer areas and outdoor weather during pickups.
  • May be exposed to dust, cleaning agents, and crowded storage spaces.
  • Requires travel between CHA sites and community partner locations.
Education, Experience and Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications
  • HS diploma/GED required; Associate degree or related coursework preferred
  • 2 years of experience in pantry operations, warehouse/inventory logistics, community health programs, or nonprofit operations
  • 1 year in a lead/supervisory role supervising staff and/or volunteers
  • Strong organizational skills; ability to prioritize and work independently
  • Experience with inventory tracking and ordering systems
  • Data entry and reporting proficiency; MS Excel required
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs repeatedly and perform frequent physical activity
  • Valid driver's license; must be 25+ for insurance purposes
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and work effectively with diverse populations
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working in:
    • a medical clinic, federally qualified health center (FQHC), or community health setting
    • grant-funded programming and outcome tracking
  • Experience using an EHR system (eClinicalWorks preferred) or other data collection software.
  • Food bank/vendor ordering platforms (e.g., NNFB portal) and inventory tools.
  • Bilingual (Spanish preferred) and/or experience serving diverse populations.
  • Current or prior training in:
    • food safety practices
    • safe lifting/ergonomics
    • volunteer coordination and engagement
