  • Your primary responsibility is to lead the daily tasks of a data center. You'll lead a team of operators being safety-first responders, operating the data center systems, and managing maintenance contractors.
  • Monitor the data center systems for operational issues and trends.
  • Take on a major role in planning daily activities and managing the logistics of executing.
  • On a daily basis, manage vendors to complete their contracted scope of work safely and correctly.
  • Accept role as joint owner of EdgeCore's operations playbook, evangelizing the strategy and encouraging others to adhere to it while providing input and feedback to improve standards. We want our standards to change and need creative trailblazers to help lead optimizing the program.
  • Lead utilization of the CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) to track, document and report work as prescribed.
  • Manage assets, spare parts and critical tools through provided systems such as CMMS.
  • Support Client IT deployments and decommissioning with power and cooling tasks.
  • Author, review, approve and utilize formal procedures in the operation of the data center. We expect our team to employ rigorous procedural formality in all critical data center operations and need people to champion the approach.
  • Frequently steward, supervise, and communicate with contractors.
  • Work with the Core Operations Site Manager to lead execution a condition-based maintenance program.
  • As part of a schedule, be on-call outside of normal working hours.
  • Taking on other duties as assigned by EdgeCore. Job duties, roles, and responsibilities are subject to change over time.

Your Experience and Qualifications

  • 5–10 years of hands-on experience supporting and operating critical facilities, including environments with complex Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems such as hospitals, manufacturing plants, labs, or data centers.
  • Strong electrical background, including working knowledge of low and medium voltage distribution, switchgear, panelboards, UPS systems, generators, ATS/STS equipment, and safe LOTO procedures.
  • Mechanical systems experience, including operation and basic troubleshooting of chillers, CRAC/CRAH units, pumps, VFDs, air handling systems, and building automation systems (BAS).
  • Plumbing and fluid system familiarity, including condensate systems, domestic water, industrial water loops, and leak detection systems.
  • Comfortable operating hand tools, power tools, and industrial equipment, including forklifts, scissor lifts, and other material handling devices.
  • Knowledge of NFPA 70E, OSHA 10, First Aid/CPR, and other safety standards relevant to critical facility operations.
  • Experienced in reading and interpreting technical documentation, including electrical one lines, mechanical schematics, P&IDs, and equipment O&M manuals.
  • Proven ability to lead technicians in a live facility environment, with a focus on safety, operational discipline, and minimizing downtime.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including shift reporting, incident documentation, and coordination with vendors and engineering teams.

  • Full-time hourly, non-exempt role: Onsite position based in Reno, NV with free parking
  • Hourly base pay: $55-$68 per hour, depending on experience.
  • Full-time non-exempt role
    Includes equity compensation and a performance-based annual bonus.
