*** CT CERTIFICATE/LICENSE is a REQUIREMENT***Position PurposeUnder the supervision of the CT Supervisor, the incumbent produces diagnostic CT scans, assisting the radiologist in diagnostic CT scan procedures, and ensuring patient care while representing the vision and mission of Renown Health System. Nature and ScopeThe incumbent must demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care based on physical, motor/sensory, psychosocial, and safety appropriate to the age of the patient served and meets standards of quality as measured by the unit/department age specific competency standards. The incumbent is responsible for coordination of the daily workflow and assist in the throughput of ER, in-patients and outpatients and providing for appropriate QC monitoring, as specified in the evaluation section of the job description. The incumbent is responsible to maintain current CPR certification, mandatory in-services, etc. This position has the authority to make technical decisions that will provide the best possible CT scans, and administer IV contrast materials under the direction of the radiologist. This position must be proficient in the use of in-house CT scanning and contrast injecting equipment. This position will require training and general knowledge attained to operate the hospital and departmental computer systems. The major challenges to this position are related to advance imaging for trauma, Stroke, Code aorta, in-patients, outpatients and staying current with changes in the field of CT. Managing appropriate care prioritizations with rapidly changing volumes demands. Coordinating with the CT department on a daily basis as well as providing strategic planning input for the future direction of the department. The incumbent is required to perform CT procedures of the human body according to the guidelines recommended by the Imaging Director and Renown Health CT Department Policy & Procedure manual. The incumbent is challenged to operate a variety of sophisticated CT imaging units and image storage systems. The incumbent must provide optimal patient care through assessment, planning, implementation, and exam evaluation of neonatal, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients and families.Excellent communication skills, ability to be flexible and function in a fast-changing environment and work under stress along with ability to maintain strict confidentiality is essential. The incumbent is accountable for individualized patient care while in the Diagnostic Interventional Department.Nature and ScopeThe incumbent provides radiology services to patients of Neonatal, Pediatric, Adolescent, Adult and Geriatric patients and families. Demonstrating the ability to work with patient's physical, motor/sensory adaptation, cognitive, and psychosocial needs specific to the population being served, and meets standards of quality as measured by the Unit/Department age specific competency standards.Competently operates Interventional imaging equipment and related machinery. Verifies and executes physician's orders for diagnostic and therapeutic exams, ensuring the proper preparation for such exams, and the safety and well-being of patients during procedures. Performs as first assist to the Interventional Cardiologist, Vascular Surgeon, or Interventional Radiologist. Sets up sterile trays and maintains the sterility of the room. Other duties include, but are not limited to, circulating, manipulation of drains and lines, suturing, billing and filming, supplies stocking, charting, quality improvement studies. Determines the best method of obtaining optimal Interventional examinations while ensuring patient safety; regulates patient flow, consults with radiologists to determine contrast media applications or variances in established procedures; continually evaluates exam quality and makes necessary corrections to improve image quality. May be required to work overtime and take call, or to accept Leave Without Pay or Annual Leave during periods of reduced workload.
