This position provides patient care of a diagnostic and therapeutic technical nature, performing diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy procedures that support and assist the work of the physician, R. N. and Endoscopy Team for optimal patient care. Responsible for the supplies and care of instrumentation before, during, and after endoscopy procedures. Nature and Scope The Endoscopy Technician I functions as a beginner level technician in the endoscopy unit. The incumbent has 0-1 years of endoscopy experience and are trained in all aspects of general GI procedures and endoscope reprocessing. They are confident, competent, and independent working in colonoscopy and esophagogastroduodenoscopy (EGD) procedures. They have an in-depth knowledge of basic GI and assist the nurses and physicians in providing care during general GI procedures and with other tasks in the endoscopy unit.
