TRC is seeking an Instrument Person for the Houston, Texas office. Responsibilities. The qualified Survey Instrument person is utilized to operate and maintain the survey instrumentation for low-tech activities such as profile surveys, line locations, Pipeline Re-Stake, Line Clearing, Line Locating, Loop Line Setup, and River/ Road Crossings. Responsible for assigned surveying activities including turning angles, shooting distances and the collection of the necessary survey data. Works closely with the Survey Party Chief to execute the survey work and the methods to be used. Assists Survey Party Chief in implementing project survey policies, guidelines, and procedures. Orients assigned survey personnel on project requirements and assigns tasks to carry out the performance of survey activities. Monitors survey personnel performance and documentation to assure quality, consistency, and compliance to project requirements.
