Location: Reno, NV 89511 (Hybrid - 2 days a week onsite (Tuesday & Thursday))

Job Description:

We are seeking a Tax Analyst to join a lean, high‑performing tax team supporting a publicly traded insurance organization. This role focuses on premium tax, state assessments, and income tax compliance across multiple jurisdictions and all 50 states. The ideal candidate is detail‑oriented, comfortable working independently, and experienced in public company tax environments. This position offers strong exposure to GAAP, STAT, and ASC 740 work within a collaborative and deadline‑driven team.

Day-to-Day:

• Prepare premium tax and assessment filings supported by complex Excel calculations
• Gather, analyze, and synthesize tax data from multiple systems
• Maintain organized workpapers, schedules, and filing documentation
• Perform general ledger entries and tax-related reconciliations
• Assist with federal, state, and local income tax compliance
• Support quarterly and annual income tax provisions (GAAP & STAT)
• Research and apply state tax regulations and filing requirements

Must-Haves:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting
• Two to four years of experience in public accounting, corporate tax, or both
• Experience working in a SOC or SOX controlled environment
• Experience supporting a publicly traded company
• Strong Excel skills, including complex formulas and calculations
• Working knowledge of GAAP accounting principles

• Master's degree in Tax or Accounting
• Experience with ASC 740 income tax provisions

• STAT reporting exposure
