Sterile Processing Tech Opportunity

This Sterile Processing Tech opportunity is full time at 40 hours per week, offers full benefits and a convenient afternoon/evening schedule.

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

• Interacts professionally with patients and family.
• Provides patient with explanations and verbal reassurance, as necessary.
• Notifies appropriate licensed personnel when patient complains of pain.
• Adapts procedures to meet individual needs of infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients for treatment.
• Prepares room in a timely manner with all anticipated instruments, sutures, supplies and equipment for each individual surgical/pain procedure, or all anticipated endoscopes, instruments, supplies and equipment of each individual GI Lab procedure.
• Accurately completes operating room counts (instruments, sponges, sharps); follows proper procedure in the event of incorrect count; reports all discrepancies to Circulating RN and surgeon and/or corrects immediately

Qualifications Requirements:

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Minimum of one (1) year experience as Central Service Technician.
• Obtains national certification within 18 months of hire into the department.
