Supervisory Inventory Management SpecialistMajor duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:Oversees the lifecycle management of non-expendable assets in the VA HCS and supported catchment area.Develops multi-year equipment/NX plans for the entire VA HCS and supported catchment areaUtilizes advanced automated non-expendable planning tools.Participates in facility and VISN strategic planning, quality management of the equipment program, equipment replacement planning on a progressive basis, integrated with management budgetary plans and consistent with life expectancy of equipment.Utilizes performance improvement methodologies such as lean and six/sigma to improve the overall management of NX assets in the VA HCS and supported catchment area.Conducts analysis and uses intensive knowledge of NX assets to make recommendations about standardization opportunities to local, VISN and national standardization initiatives.Conducts short, mid and long-term advanced planning for new and replacement NX assets.Conducts data analysis regarding NX asset needs based on disparate data points including projected lifecycle, downtime, repair rates, lost workload, cost, depreciation, trade-in value and other factors which impact procurement decisions.Interacts and coordinates with service lines, biomedical engineering, and other stakeholders to balance competing priorities including clinical requirements, technological enhancements, and budget constraints.Performs classification, segregation, redistribution of excess, scrap or salvage and utilization of a wide variety of administrative, technical, medical/surgical equipment and supplies.Manages the equipment/supplies loan program, Equipment Test and Evaluation program, Revocable License programs, delivery distribution, storage, transportation, mail center functions, warehousing, and coordinated management oversight with finance, acquisition, and monthly reconciliation of the General Ledger Accounts.Performs other duties as assignedWork Schedule: Monday-FridayVirtual: This is not a virtual position.Position Description/PD#: Supervisory Inventory Management Specialist / PD99825SRelocation/Recruitment Incentives: Not AuthorizedCritical Skills Incentive (CSI): Not AuthorizedPermanent Change of Station (PCS): Not Authorized
