Our team is proud to work for Novo, and we're proud to work with them.Join us in making a difference for our partners.POSITION SUMMARYThe Equipment Operator is responsible for operating powered industrial forklifts to load and unload materials and move them from storage areas, machines, and loading docks into trucks; support other warehouse functions to ensure optimal operation of the business.ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIESOperate forklift, including moving of products and loading/unloading of materials on to trailers.Collect and stage orders to be shipped.Perform general warehouse responsibilities such as maintaining cleanliness and organization of shelving, pallet area and work stations; sweep and/or mop floors.Maintain high standards of safety throughout operations.Assist in inventory control activities to include recording of materials shipped and counting of physical inventory.Assist other employees with day-to-day operations as needed and directed.Communicate and cooperate with supervisors and coworkers.Comply with established policies and procedures.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIESStrong knowledge of warehouse work instructions, safety, and housekeeping procedures.Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.Ability to lift, move, and transport up to 50 pounds.Ability to stand, bend, and stoop for extended periods or for duration of shift (8-12 hour shifts).Ability to work day, 8-12 hour shifts, as applicable.Ability to communicate effectively with individuals of varied backgrounds and levels of management.Ability to maintain a professional and positive attitude towards members of management, coworkers, customers, partners, and other visitorsAbility to work in a fast-paced environment and/or under stressful situations.Ability to proactively problem solve.EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND QUALIFICATIONSHigh school diploma, GED, or equivalent.One (1) year experience operating a forklift; certification preferred.One (1) to two (2) years warehouse experience.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSRequirement% of Work Time Spent on ActivitySeeing : Must be able to read computer screens and various reports.75% - 100%Hearing : Must be able to hear well enough to communicate with employees and others.75% - 100%Standing / Walking75% - 100%Climbing / Stooping / Kneeling75% - 100%Lifting / Pulling / Pushing50%-74%Fingering / Grasping / Feeling : Must be able to write, type, and use phone systems.0%-24%WORKING CONDITIONSWork is performed inside a warehouse and/or manufacturing plant with exposure to heat, cold, and inclement weather. May involve moderate exposure to potentially dangerous materials or situations, such as extreme heights, temperatures, dust, fumes, vapors, solvents and chemicals, and loud noises. Use of personal protective safety equipment is required. Work may be performed alone, with others, around others, and with verbal and face-to-face contact.
