Description:

Reno Staffing is looking for experienced CNC operators for a industry-leading innovation company located in in the Reno area! 

This is a direct hire position. 


Shift: Full-time Monday-Friday 7:00 a.m.-3:30 p.m.
Pay: up to $30/hr. DOE
Location: Reno, NV 89502

Summary:  

CNC Operator sets up and operates a CNC Vertical and Horizontal Machining Center while maintaining high quality and safety standards.  

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


Other duties may be assigned.

  • Set up and operate a vertical and horizontal machining center to meet daily production and quality requirements
  • Place material (ie: forging, billet, round bar) to be cut onto the CNC to make precision parts per drawing specification
  • Identify and troubleshoot common issues that may arise during CNC milling operations, such as tool breakage, chatter, surface finish problems, and machine malfunctions under minimum supervision. 
  • Deburr parts after machining as required.
  • Monitor tool life and dimensional characteristics of the product. Replenish tooling as needed. 
  • Demonstrate analytical thinking and problem-solving skills to troubleshoot production issues to maintain productivity and minimize downtime. 
  • Ability to run more than one machine/production process at a time.
  • Must be able to make decisions, communicate effectively and work well with others in a team environment.  
  • Maintains equipment by completing preventative maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions.
  • Keep the work area clean and orderly on a daily to adhere to safety guidelines and regulations to maintain a safe working environment.                                
  • Maintain good attendance and punctuality.
  • Maintain a positive and respectful attitude; cooperate with co-workers, management, internal and external customers, as applicable.   Report any incidents of harassment to your Supervisor, Manager or Human Resources Manager.
  • Work safely at all times and report any unsafe conditions or injuries to your Supervisor or Manager immediately.
  • Other duties, as assigned by supervision or management.

Must have a mechanical aptitude and be detail oriented with a focus on accuracy and precision.                            

  1. CNC machining experience is required.
  2. Proficiency in blueprint reading, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T), inspection tools and methods.
  3. Documented production data, including work orders, machine settings, and maintenance records.`
  4. Experience in Kiwa or Robodrill highly desirable

Education: 

  • AA or Technical Certification in CNC Machining and/or up to 2 years relevant work experience.
  • Communication Skills 
  • Ability to communicate simple facts with courtesy and clarity.
  • Mathematical Skills 
  • Ability to perform calculations utilizing arithmetic such as addition, subtraction, multiplication and division normally attained through elementary school education.
  • Ability to perform calculations utilizing algebra and fractions.
  •  Reasoning Ability
  1. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  2. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  3. Computer Skills
  4. Must be proficient in  the use of Renishaw probes              .
  5. Knowledge of fanuc controls, Mastercam and/or esprit is a plus.
